Preparing for the SHRM Certification Exam: Let’s Do This Together!

Who Should Enroll
Eligibility Requirements
Individuals who perform HR duties and wish to verify, validate, enhance and/or expand their HR capabilities are likely candidates for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
SHRM membership is not required for eligibility and individuals need not be employed at the time they apply.
The SHRM-CP certification is for individuals that perform general HR/HR-related duties; or for those pursuing a career in Human Resource Management.
The SHRM-SCP certification is for individuals that have a work history of at least 3 years performing strategic level HR/HR-related duties; or for SHRM-CP credential holders who have held the credential for at least 3 years and are working in, or are in the process of transitioning to, a strategic level role.

Instructor
Jen Carty
Jen Carty has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resources in various industries including Retail, Manufacturing, and Hospitality. Currently the Director of Talent Acquisition at Magna Hospitality Group, where she performs and manages the full recruitment life cycle. Jen also serves on the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC) as the College Relations Director. Jen strives to continually learn and develop, holding certifications including SHRM-SCP, SPHR (HRCI), and SHRM People Analytics Specialty credential. Jen is also an Adjunct Professor at Southern New Hampshire University, teaching Undergraduate courses in the Human Resources Management program. Jen is an active member of HRACC, Staffing Management Association, Human Resource and Leadership Forum of SNE, and SHRM.
Location
This class is run as an in-person class with a simultaneously livestream option.
The online class is six-hour scheduled sessions on Saturdays.
Students that participate in the class online will need a computer with video and a microphone.
Log on instructions will be sent prior to the class start date to the students that participate in the class online.
